It's Time to Launch!

It’s been such a fun project to bring this incredible story to all of you. Pre-sale for the book went live July 18, 2022, with actual printing August 15, 2022. Big thanks to scores of you who put your name on the waiting list! WSU Press is printing it soon and will ship it out to you immediately after that.

All throughout the exhaustive research and investigating, we’ve formed an informal group we call the Cashup Crew. These are descendants with boxes of family letters and photos, history sleuths, and descendants of other pioneer families – in many cases still living and farming in the Palouse Country where Cashup made his legend.

Of course, I also went beyond internet searches and went into small town museums to research musty old photos down creaky staircases. As an investigative reporter, what fun that’s been.

We even held community meetings asking whether anyone had stuff to help tell our story. The posters we put around town said “Is Cashup living in your attic?” It was a catchy little grabber. But it worked.

The story of Cashup has been mentioned here and there by some people. But this expands the research, verifies the mysteries and includes the complete, true and full story.

So get ready for a great read.
